Melvyn & Julie’s Wedding SDE

I did the underwater shooting at this hotel 2 years ago. Today I returned again to film the poolside wedding ceremony for Melvyn and Julie. Although the decoration is simple, the detail has been well captured. I love the vows from the couple but to due to the time constraints, I couldn’t include the full personal vows into the SDE. I only have 2 hours to complete the SDE after the wedding ceremony. I’d say this is the most challenging SDE that I have ever done so far. The effort I put in for this SDE won back the tumultuous applause in the ballroom.

Evan & Caroline’s Wedding

It was our first time to shoot at Renaissance Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The entire event from the preps, the ceremony until the reception were done in the same hotel. We really loved the place especially the grand staircase. This is completely western style wedding as there is nothing about the gaming and gate crashing session. It was actually quite fun while shooting the Caroline and Evan’s wedding. The room of Evan and Caroline are just right opposite to each other. The videographers and photographers were crossing the corridor without wearing the shoes.

I’d say this is the most touching wedding film I have ever done. Here is the wedding trailer for Lionel and Joanna wedding held in Eastin Hotel, Kuala lumpur. The film focuses more on the speeches of both parents and Joanna’s sister, Jovina. I was so touched while editing that part seriously.

Joanna and Lionel booked me in 2010. We didn’t meet each other until 1 day before her wedding. Everything was discussed through the email and Facebook. Joanna and Lionel both work as a doctor and pharmacist respectively in Perth, Australia. Well, actually i was a bit stress for this shooting. I got 0 hour sleep before the wedding day. The church is quite strict and we were not allowed to tap the microphone system in their mixer. We planned for several options in order to record the vows. The march in part was added in into the SDE this time. This is one of the most challenging SDE i have ever done so far.

We flew to Kuantan 2 times within a week to cover the reception and the ceremony. Michelle and I were chatting in the MSN almost every day before her wedding. We were talking about the photographers, videographers, photobook, wedding band all other vendors. I’m so proud to be their wedding videographer really. Michelle sent me her photo via MSN months ago. But when I first met Michelle in Zenith Hotel on her wedding day, I was shocked and i immediately texted Alex and saying that we’ve got a pretty bride. And the most important thing is that Michelle is very good in posing in front of the lens. It is so natural and elegant. We were doing uncountable NG shots during the pre-wedding shooting but Michelle and Jun were so sporting and always keep smiling.

We have only less than a week to prepare for this save the date shooting. Let’s say something about the modern castle. 3 storey super bungalow with elevator, mini cinema, computer room and hotel style bed rooms. But unfortunately my giant crane can’t really fit into the elevator. We used stair case every time we want to transfer it from one place to another.

William & Kirstin’s Pool Side Wedding

During the discussion wirh William and Kirstin. They were reluctant to give the personal vows. But throughout the entire discussion, I decided to propose them to give a personal vows because I discovered 1 very important thing. Kirstin is actually very emotional type of person and she is very easy to cry. Fortunately, Kirstin’s performance is outstanding. I personally love it so much. The next thing I want to share is the tiredness of carrying the equipments from one place to another. The distance between swimming pool and the ball room is about 300 meters away. The journey is not straight path but to climb the stair case up and down, cross the small bridge, walk through the uneven tile. There are few times I thought of giving up the shot but due to the amazing decoration done by Floralsense Creation group, I can’t stop filming it although the setup is time consuming.

Kenson and Ivy got married on 11 November 2011 which is a very special and meaningful day 11.11.11. The day started off at Majestic Hydro Hotel where they both got ready for their big day. This is another big challenge for me as everything was done within a same day. The aeriel shot was done early in the morning when everybody was still in the bed i guess. I really appreciate Kenson for his patience on his big day. The reception was so happening with non stop action the whole time, compliments of the wonderful band from Stars band. Another beautiful wedding with another beautiful couple.

Pei Wen sent me the link of St.Michael Church 9 months ago before I flew into Melbourne. I was amazed by the photo of the church and couldn’t wait to film it. When I arrived in Melbourne, the very first thing I did was visiting the church. There was one kind old lady named Patsy took us to walk around in the church. We were then explained on the architecture and the building, the creation of the giant organ and the history. I still remember the entire story that Patsy told me about the church. We went for the Pei Wen and Desmond’s rehearsal a day before their big day. Everything was cool. The camera position was filmed and story line flow was drafted. But we faced a big challenge next day. We were told that we are not allowed to place the camera at the designated spot which has been already setup on previous day. But the problem was solved before the couple march in.

Len Sheng & Shue Wen’s Garden Wedding

It is another super garden wedding organized by de Montage and Floralsense Creation. Rasa Sayang Resort has always been known as one of the most popular places for a garden style wedding and when we were having a discussion with de Montage team, We were so excited and desperately to see the photos of the decoration at the garden area. Well, I believe the outcome didn’t disappoint me at last. This time, It is my pleasure to tag with one of the well-known photographer in wedding industry.
